- [Karl] A good group. I'm Karl Johnson, Vice President of Sales here at iClick, and excited to have you join the call today. We're gonna talk about growing sales with Qi, or Qi charging, and this is definitely an emerging product category for us. This is part of what's driving our great growth in the power and wireless charging category, which is our fastest-growing category here at iClick, so definitely relevant in the market, and we wanna get you educated up, and understand the technology, so you're able to sell them to your clients, and take advantage of this emerging trend. So, we're gonna dive right in today. Our agenda, we're gonna talk about what is Qi charging, or Qi charging, and obviously then we wanna know why and how to sell it, and we're gonna go through our product line up here at iClick. We've got some downloads that are available right now. You guys can download, and then we'll do a brief Q and A here at end, and answer some questions you may have, so a good agenda. So, what is Qi or Qi charging, and really, most of us have probably been using this technology for years, and just aren't aware of it, with our wireless toothbrushes. So, if anybody has a Sonicare, or a competing wireless toothbrush, you've already been using this technology. Basically, you have your transmitting device, which is your charging base, and that's your corded charger, and historically, you've been plugging, or resting your toothbrush back into that base, and that's recharging, and that toothbrush, then, is the receiver. So, you've got a coil in your transmitting device, which is your charging base, and a coil in your receiver, and when those two things are aligned, and within a several-millimeter distance of each other, this electromagnetic induction occurs, and you recharge your battery. So, now, most smartphones are compatible with this technology. So, you've got the receiver in your phone, and it's embedded in your phone, and your transmitting device, and that's what we're selling now, are the transmitters, or the Qi charging bases. So, that's very simple, if you just put it in the context of your toothbrush. It's a great way to think about it. In terms of the market opportunity here, as I mentioned, charging, and wireless charging, is our fastest-growing category here at iClick, and this is one of the reasons why. This is market demand in our industry, so this is data from the industry search engines, ESP, et cetera. What you see here is overall searches or queries for traditional promotional products are actually down year-over-year, but when we flip over to mobile accessories, we see a 99% growth in query buy-in, so these are searches conducted for related product categories. So, this is you, and your competitors, again, based on your customer demand, looking for these specific products, so we see a really great market opportunity, and, again, a very rapidly-growing segment of the marketplace that we obviously want you guys to take advantage of, and be able to sell in this space. When we talk about, obviously, the PopSocket grip, and the phone grip category, and things that we offer for the back of the phone, we refer to this as mobile real estate, and this is obviously great branding, and impression value. We're all very connected to our phones, and they're on us 24/7. This is an independent survey that was conducted as far as how often people are looking at their phones. I would contest, certainly, us sales people are on our phones quite a bit more than this, and they really become really an extension of ourselves, and how that translates into wireless charging is, obviously, the more we use our phones, the more we have to charge them, so that becomes the great extension of an opportunity for that mobile accessory product as well, and you've got great branding real estate connected to that as well. So, let's get into, actually, the introduction. Now we know how it works, and what it is. We know what the market opportunity is. Let's talk about Qi charging in general. So, smartphones with wireless charging capabilities have been around since about 2012, but really it was in late 2017, November of 2017, when Apple released the iPhone 8 and X that this really became commonplace in the market, and that coincides, really, with when just a few months after that release, is when iClick really joined this market, and released our first series of Qi wireless charging, so we've got this market penetration and saturation now, where we're seeing this critical mass of smartphones in the market that are Qi-compatible, and that's really what's driving the sales in this category. Qi charging really takes the forms of pads, or mats, so they're really flat devices that will sit on a desktop, or there's multiple versions, and functions that we're gonna talk about today, but it gives great branding opportunities, so again, we talked about mobile real estate, and now we're taking advantage of this desktop real estate, in-car real estate, and that type of a thing, so great impression value, and branding available on Qi chargers. The other thing, as I mentioned, with desktop real estate, unlike, for example, a power charger, or an adapter that's gonna be plugged into a wall that might sit underneath a desk, or off to the side, you're front and center with wireless charging pads, so they are always in front of you, and again, it's that great desktop real estate, or in-the-car real estate, nightstand real estate, so these things are everywhere you go, and, again, it offers this tremendous brand impression value. So, let's talk about how we sell this, because it's one thing to know the technology, and understand how it works, and see it out there, but really, our goal here is to educate you all enough to be able to easily sell this in, and as I've gone out, and done tons of trade shows, and client meetings over the last year or so, and go over this, this becomes the biggest takeaway for people, so if you guys have one takeaway from this webinar today, it should be this. In the old days, when we first, when I say old days, I'm old enough to know when cell phones first came out, and what they told you to do is use it all day long, run your battery down to zero, and then go home and recharge it at night. Well, the batteries now, that's actually the opposite of what you wanna do. Your battery only has 500 to 600 full cycles before it's essentially fried, so if you took that approach now with your smartphone, your phone would last you about a year and a half, and you'd be completely done. So, optimally, you wanna keep your battery between 30 to 40 and 80% charged at all times. Okay, so what we say is ABC, always be charging. So, for the optimal health and life of your battery, you wanna be grabbing those quick charges. You wanna be getting at that additional 10, 15% boost, keeping your battery between that 40 to 60, or 40 to 80% charged at all times. In fact, even if you leave your phone on a charger overnight, once you reach 100, that's actually not optimal, because you continue to draw down, and ping back up, and draw down, and ping back up, which is wearing on your battery, so optimally, you wanna keep between 40 and 80%, and so as we've designed this line that we're gonna talk about of Qi chargers, we really had that thought in mind. It's estimated that the average consumer's gonna end up owning four or five wireless chargers because of this. You're always gonna be wanting to grab that charge, so no matter where you go, you're gonna be hitting that quick charge. You're seeing Starbucks building this into coffee shops now. You're seeing airports building this into your concourses. When you're waiting for your flight, you can grab that quick wireless charge. So, it's really, the tech is proliferating everywhere, and it's because for the life of your battery, again, you wanna always be grabbing that quick charge. One term that you hear in the market, and that comes up quite a bit, is Qi certification, and this is really the Wireless Power Consortium's moniker in what they deem quality, and certified in the marketplace, but what it really does is enable you to use this logo. So, you pay a fee, and you go through some testing, and then you're able to use this Qi-Certified logo. What's really important to know is that FCC certification is the industry standard for certified product in this space, and we go through rigorous testing. What this ensures is that you have foreign-object detection. Obviously, the coils aren't gonna heat up, and catch fire, and those types of things, so all of our product line is FCC-certified in this space, and that's really the certification you wanna look for. We have released a couple models that we will cover that are also Qi-Certified, but quite frankly, we don't have, we haven't seen a huge demand for that, but if it does come up, we do have models that are Qi-Certified, but we want you to know what that really means. Again, it effectively enables us to use their logo, and ensures that we've gone through their testing process. So, let's get into product, 'cause this is the fun stuff. Now, I'm gonna tell a story here, and as much as I'm promoting, and talking about wireless charging, I'm still rocking an iPhone 7, so I actually don't have a wireless-capable phone yet, however, of course, my 13-year-old daughter has to have a better phone than I do, so she's got the iPhone 8. So, the first product I wanna talk to you guys about, and this is our top seller in this category, is our Qi Triad, and we call it the Triad here. It's a wireless charging pad. You can see in the image there it's got two universal USB ports in the front, so this becomes, basically, our kitchen hub in my house. My daughter can lay her phone down, and grab that charge wirelessly on top of the charging pad. I can still plug my iPhone 7 into the front of it here, and in addition, we can charge a Bluetooth speaker, or headphones, or anything like that with the additional ports. We call it the Triad because you can literally charge three devices at once. It's a great price point. It ends up being a very competitive giveaway price point, and this is a great transition for anybody that's got concerns about not everybody having wireless-compatible devices. Again, this will charge any device in the market right now. So, a great way to segue into Qi charging. Another great product that's also a nice transition piece is the Qi 2-Go. This is a traditional 4,000-mAh power bank, but it's also a wireless charger. So, if I have my iPhone 7, I can take this with me, and connect to it, and charge traditionally, with a 4,000-mAh power bank. If I have a Qi-enabled, wireless-enabled phone, I get to just suction-cup this on the back of my device, and on the go I'm grabbing that quick charge. This literally attaches to the back of your phone, and charges wirelessly, so very cool products. We've got two great transition pieces here, if you have clients that are a little concerned about going full wireless-capable. Next up are our classics. These are two pieces we launched with initially. It's our Qi Reflect, which is a smaller charging pad, but it's got a really nice beveled edge, and then our Qi Bevel, so here we've got an aluminum, a little bigger, so we just have aesthetic differences here. Bigger imprint area, and the nice aluminum finish on this one. One thing to note, you guys, when you're out here selling these products, and I had a distributor tell me this a couple of months ago, and I thought it was a great takeaway, you have to show your customers these. They are not going to ask for these, and a couple reasons why is if you go into an Apple store, and see something, a comparable retail item, like this Bevel, you're gonna see that retailing at about $65. So, a lot of your customers aren't gonna think these are, A, either available in our space, or B, think that they're affordable. We've been very conscious in the way we've priced these products so that they are very affordable, and we can hit these traditional giveaway price points in our space, and that's been really effective, and we've sold a ton of these because of that, but I would just really encourage you to make sure your customers know these are available, and at the price points they are, because we're extremely competitive in this space. We've priced these things very intentionally, and again, compared to retail, you're well under what a retail charging pad would be, and again, your customers probably aren't gonna know that, unless you get out there, and put this in front of them, so we encourage you to do that. Speaking of value and price, our best value is the Qi Disc, and this, again, is an FCC-certified wireless charging pad for this amazing price point. This effectively costs what a PopSocket grip costs. So, if you've sold in a PopSocket in the past, and your customer wants to do something different, but still techy, this a great alternative. So, basically, for the same price as a PopSocket, you can sell in the Qi wireless charger, so really a great option there, at a great value price point, with still all of the certifications you need, and that quality assurance from iClick. Now, we talked about everywhere you go, you wanna grab that quick charge. One of the most popular places people charge their phone is in their car, so we wanted to address that market as well, and that functionality, so we've got our Universal Vent Mount that's Qi-enabled. So, effectively, you are slotting this device into your vent in your car. It becomes a car vent mount, and you're cording that into your port in your car, and as you stick your phone in there, you automatically start charging wirelessly, so you're, again, grabbing that quick charge. Whether you're commuting into work, or going to the store, or wherever it may be, you're getting that quick charge on your phone to keep your device at that 40 to 80% optimal range. So, along those same lines, we move to the office. Now we go desktop, so I've got the quick hit in my car, now I get to my desk, and I've got my wireless charger built into my mouse pad here. This has been a really popular item, and you get into more of that gifting price point, but a huge imprint area, and you're capturing that great desktop real estate, and then we've got it enabled in our Stand as well. So, another option, we've got a square version, and a rounder version, and we can do full bleed on these, and it's a great imprint area, and, again, front and center all day long, and because we're using our phones, we need to keep that phone charged between 40 and 80%. We're gonna grab those quick charges all the time, and be looking at this charger right in front of us, so great real estate. So, as you can see, we're just building different form and function. As I mentioned, the average consumer's gonna own four or five wireless chargers, so you're not gonna give a customer one of these, and have them go, "Oh, shoot, I already have one." The end user's gonna be stoked, 'cause they're gonna be like, "Hey, great, now I've got one for the office. "Now I've got one for the car. "Now I've got one for the kitchen. "Now I've got one for the bedroom. "Now I've got one for the living room." So, everywhere you go, you're gonna wanna have one of these, so you can sell in multiple times. So, we're gonna run a quick video here on the functionality of this, of the Qi Mouse Pad. All right, cool, so there you guys see, really, real-world functionality with the Mouse Pad. We've got two different sizes. Again, you can just slot that into your laptop case when you take your laptop with you, and use that anywhere. Most of us in the office just keep it on the desktop, and it's front and center all day long, and everyone's grabbing quick charges at work. As soon as I upgrade my phone, I'm gonna be joining them. So, let's move on now, and talk. We talked about Qi certification, and this is our entry into this Qi-Certified space. The Stand has been a really popular product for us, so we've made this a Qi-Certified option as well, so we offer the Qi Stand in both Qi-Certified and FCC-certified. Again, really, the only difference is their specific testing requirements, and then paying a fee in order to use their certification logo, but if you have a customer that requires that, we wanna be able to hit that need for you. Another really cool product that is available in both Qi-Certified and non-Qi-Certified, and this is brand new, is our Qi Card. If you are familiar with our Flip series of power banks, where we have self-contained charging cables, this is that same tech, so as I mentioned, your Qi chargers need to be corded. They need a power source, but what we've done here is embed that power cord into the charger itself, so you don't have to take any cords with you. So, I can grab this on the go, and then plug this into my laptop, and charge my phone wherever I am, or any power source, you can use for this, and it's really cool, 'cause I don't have to take any cables with me. I'm totally wireless now, and there's nothing that needs to connect my phone to this charger, and I don't need to bring anything that needs to connect this charger to a power source, so I've got everything self-contained, and I'm on the go, so that's the Qi Card, and it's a little bit bigger than a business card size. So, again, a great price point, great giveaway price point. It just adds that extra on-the-go mobile functionality with this wireless charging capability. And then what we can always do here at iClick is customize things, so really, any of our stock products, we can make in custom shapes, and we've tried to make this a lot more accessible. This is a great to differentiate with your customer base from stock items that are out there, is do a custom shape, and we've got a lot of really cool ways we can do this. We've brought production timelines down to 30 days, standard, on all of our custom products, and we've got really low MOQs, in just a one-time mold piece here. So, if you're interested in custom solutions, please just reach out to us. We're happy to do virtual mock-ups, and get that ball rolling for you, but just know that whether it be wireless charging, or power banks, or USB drives, or anything else we carry here at iClick, we can offer custom solutions as well, and as I've said, we've tried to make that really accessible for you guys, so you can start selling in custom, and differentiate from your competitors out there. All right, so that's our overview of charging, and our specific product line. There have been some handouts available, since we've started the call, so I encourage you to download these. We've got our ReadyShip Catalog, a Q and A, or a FAQ, I should say, about Qi charging. We've got some data in there that might be good. One of the things we try to do is develop some sales collateral that you guys can use as well to help sell this in, and if you haven't used a Qi charger, and you do have an enabled device, an iPhone 8, or X, or greater, or any Samsung, really, for the last few years, please get a sample from us. We're happy to sample you. We want you to obviously be able to use it, the tech, yourself, and know how it works, and, of course, be able to sample your customers as well. We're happy to set you up with that, and even better, do a self promo. Our standard offering for self promo is EQP less 30, but since you're on the call today, we're gonna offer EQP less 50% for self promo on wireless chargers, with no setup, or run charges. So, it's a great way to do a self promo, and really help drive sales in this space, and we wanna make that as affordable, and easy as possible for you guys, so please take advantage of that. One thing I always like to remind people of is, really, the iClick advantage, and so why do business with us, and really, we've built our company on putting you first, and our mission is to make our customers look good, so hopefully some of you have experience with this, but we offer things like free ReadyShip, with no rush charges, no minimum order quantities on pretty much everything, every product we went over today. We are free ground shipping on everything we do to a US location, or a continental US location, so please take advantage of that, if you have not. Free ground shipping, we can turn these things. Everything I went over today is available on our next-day-ready shelf, so literally, you get us approved order, with PO, by 2:00 p.m. Pacific, we're gonna decorate and ship next day. No minimum order quantity, and we're gonna ship for free. So, again, it becomes a no-brainer at this point. Take advantage of that. We've made a huge investment in our production team. We're gonna turn virtuals around for you in a couple hours or less. Our sales team is prepared to turn quotes around to you usually in an hour or less, and everything we do, ReadyShip is with a proof, so a huge differentiator, I'd like to remind people of that too. Even our next-day production, even at 2:00 p.m. Pacific, we're gonna turn that order around and make sure we get that in for you, so you don't have to cross your fingers, and hope the logo's not inverted, or anything crazy like that. And of course, we really stand behind, from a quality standpoint, and a warranty standpoint, so we came up as the leading supplier of USBs in the industry starting 20 years ago, and the great thing is as we've grown, and diversified, this service level has not changed or faltered at all, so we're really proud of that here at iClick. I wanna give you one more offer before we get into the Q and A, and for attending the webinar today, if you use code WEBQi, we're gonna waive run charges on all Qi products through the end of September, so you've got like six weeks to take advantage of this, with a 200-piece minimum order quantity, so please reference this code. Our team is geared up, and ready to accept these orders from you guys, so take advantage of this. So, again, free run charges on all Qi products through the end of September with a 200-piece minimum order quantity, so please take advantage of that. Leverage us for samples, mock-ups. Take advantage of the self promo offer. Take advantage of the sales offer, and this is a great way, as I mentioned, I'm gonna say it, probably, for the fifth time, but this is our fastest-growing category, you guys. We're up 300% plus, year-over-year, on this category, so this is a huge growth area, and we want you to be able to take advantage of it, and obviously we'd love to partner with you, and help support that growth for you guys as well. So, with that, I'm gonna take some questions, and Abby's gonna read these out for me. - [Abby] All right, so the first question, asked by Dee, "How do PopSockets work with a wireless charger?" - [Karl] That is a great question, and there are a lot of variables to PopSockets, and wireless charging. It really comes down to the distance that you have between your device, and the wireless charger, so a classic, plastic PopSocket can work, but it depends. Once you start adding layers, like cases, and that kind of a thing, you can reach a gap that's too far for the wireless charger to work. Now, the great thing, if you sat on my last webinar, is PopSockets and iClick have released some brand new products that specifically speak to this, so we've got our PopWallet, and our PopWallet+. The PopWallet+ is a removable mobile wallet with a PopSocket attached, so that you can literally just slide the wallet off for wireless charging, so I'd encourage you to take a look at that product as well, 'cause that specifically addresses both the functionality of a mobile wallet, and a PopSocket, and the easy ability to wirelessly charge with a PopSocket. - [Abby] Hmm, next question from Stace, "Does the wireless charger have to be plugged in?" - [Karl] Most of them do, yes. Now, our Qi 2-Go does not have to be plugged in, because that actually carries that 4,000-mAh traditional power bank charge with it, but all other chargers do. They do have to be corded, they do have to have a power source. - [Abby] Okay, and then Doug asks, "Do you have sell sheets on these products?" - [Karl] Absolutely, so you can hit up our website, you can email sales at iClick, you can give us a call on our 800 number, so we will absolutely hook you up with selling sheets, and other collateral as well that we've tried to develop, like, again, some 101 sheets on how to sell this, and what it means. - [Abby] Yep, and then lastly, just some clarification. If you have a PopSocket on your phone, can you use the Qi charger? - [Karl] So, again, it depends on the distance between the phone and the charger, and so it really is going to depend. What it won't do is go through metal, so, for example, our aluminum PopSockets it will not transmit through, but if you have a classic, plastic PopSocket, and you don't have a case on your phone, then it should work. As soon as you start adding millimeters in distance in there, then you start reaching too big of a gap, and it's not gonna send the signal through that, which, again, is why specifically PopSockets has released some new products to address this. - [Abby] It looks like those are all our questions for now. - [Karl] Okay, great, well, listen, I wanna thank you guys for joining, and, again, hopefully this was educational, and you learned more about Qi charging, and I just wanna reinforce our team is here to help. This is really new tech. It's only really been in the consumer market in mass for the last couple years, but it is our fastest-growing category, so we want you to take advantage of it. Let us help educate you, and educate your clients, and this is really, as I said, you can sell this in multiple times, which makes it a great opportunity, because as I mentioned, the average consumer's gonna end up with four, five, six of these devices, so no one's ever gonna be disappointed to get another one. So, with that, again, thanks so much for joining, and we'll look forward to working with you guys. - [Abby] We actually ended up getting a few more questions, - Oh, I'm happy to hit those up, let's do it. - you up for it, yeah? Since the wireless charger has to be plugged in, why is it better than a regular charger? - [Karl] Well, it's really because of the ease of being able to set your phone down, and effectively being hands-free, and not having to have a cord attached to your phone, so I would answer that question, imagine having your toothbrush on a cable. If you had to brush your teeth on a cable, it would be similar to plugging your phone into a power source. With the wireless toothbrushes, you're completely going hands-free while you're using the toothbrush, and then you're just setting it back in the charging bay, so it's a similar concept, right? So, my phone and the charger don't have to have a cord. I don't have to bring a cord with me. So, you're going to the charging device, a power bank, and maybe another way to think about it, a power bank, you're always taking with you. With wireless charging, and the reason why you're gonna have four, or five, or six of them is 'cause you're going to them, but I don't have to bring a cord with me. - [Abby] All right, looks like that's it. - [Karl] Okay, cool, well, thanks, you guys. Great questions, and again, feel free to reach out to me directly. Hit up our sales team. We wanna answer all your questions, and make this as easy for you guys to sell as possible, 'cause it's a terrific opportunity.
